I've been reading a lot of comments about how offended some of you are, either because you think being gay is a mental illness or that you think gays should be proud of what they do. I don't know if you could classify being gay as a mental illness. However, I do find the behavior of many gays to be something that makes me uneasy. I don't agree with the premise of men meeting men in public restrooms for sexual activity. The idea of having intercourse while getting the smell of something someone else left behind days earlier seems disgusting to me. But, this is the behavior of many gay men.

Just out of curiosity how did you come by this particular knowledge? Sexual deviancy is prevelent among both heterosexuals and gays!

This is just one story of many, from CNN: Craig: I did nothing 'inappropriate' in airport bathroom August 28, 2007 -- Sen. Larry Craig said he "overreacted and made a poor decision" in pleading guilty to disorderly conduct after his June arrest following an incident in a Minneapolis airport bathroom. Tuesday, in his first public statement on the arrest, the Idaho Republican said he did nothing "inappropriate." "Let me be clear: I am not gay and never have been," said Craig, who has aligned himself with conservative groups who oppose gay rights. The second came from ABC: Secret Signals: How Some Men Cruise for Sex When Men Cruise for Sex in Public Places, Police Take Notice, Some Gays Say It's Unfair Aug. 28, 2007 -- While many Americans may only be vaguely familiar with the idea of "cruising," there is a secret world of sex between men that exists in public places across the country. The police officer who arrested Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, in a men's restroom at the Minneapolis airport for allegedly looking to engage in gay sex wrote in his June report that he "recognized a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct." Craig tapped his foot up and down and swiped his hand underneath the bathroom stall in which the undercover cop was sitting, according to the police report. Those actions led to Craig's arrest by Detective Dave Karsnia and the senator's guilty plea to a disorderly conduct charge. Craig told reporters today that he did nothing inappropriate and said his guilty plea was a mistake. Public places like men's restrooms, in airports and train stations, truck stops, university libraries and parks, have long been places where gay and bisexual men, particularly those in the closet, congregate in order to meet for anonymous sex. Now, can you name a man and a woman who've been caught doing what Craig did?

People on both sides accuse Obama of being disingenuous. That?s because he is indeed disingenuous, but not like people think. Regardless of his low key approach, Obama is part of the scheme to back door an open gay agenda and repeal DADT. The scheme includes the White House, lower Federal Judge Phillips, and activist gay organizations like the oddly named Log Cabin Republicans who helped engineer these latest moves. You may remember that a similar lower Federal Court ruling was overturned by the Congress just a couple of weeks ago. Any judge can repeat the ruling regardless that it was previously overturned and that is what Judge Phillips just did two days ago. The timing for effect was the biggest factor. Two weeks ago, the Congress and the DEFSEC announced that they would await the Defense Department study taking place on this issue, a study that is already not boding well for the open expression of gays in the military, therefore Phillips moved with deliberate speed and with the full knowledge and urgings of the president and the Justice Department on the eve of upcoming congressional elections. For those that don?t remember, DADT was already pushed on the armed forces by the Clinton Administration and against the advice of [then] General Colin Powell, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1993. Powell even resigned with that decision as one of the primary reasons for leaving the Army and the JCS according to his autobiography published after his resignation. Since then, Powell?s position has wavered, but even now he and Secretary Gates agree that the DoD study needs to be completed. Since 1993, the DoD decided to make DADT succeed in spite of it being ill advised and they managed to do just that in a way that only the military can do. The false promise to the armed forces and the American people by the Clinton Administration and the liberal policy makers then was that DADT would be the final word on the subject and prove to be a fair compromise for all parties. Happily, that is just what it was. In reality though, DADT was just a clandestine first step to something sinister and deceptive, a move toward total openness of homosexuals in the armed forces where same sex marriages could be conducted in ceremonial dress blues on the steps of the base chapel, same sex partners could attend the Marine Corps Ball and Navy Fleet Week celebrations in full dress uniform together, and same sex couples could qualify for on-base housing, base activities and base privileges. Finally, the reason for all of this goes further than openness among gays in the military. The movers in all of this really do not care one bit about the military. Their strategy is to circumvent their stalled attempts to make gay marriage legal in all 50 states instead of the 4 or 5 that have narrowly legalized it to date. They feel that by focusing on the armed forces, they will achieve that goal by judicial fiat without the Congress and in spite of American public opinion.

"Military personnel decisions can?t be run by unit referendum, they said." this line was offered by the U.S. Air Force in fighting against the reinstatement of a gay (actually lesbian) flight nurse when her defence argued her firing actually hurt military goals such as morale, unit cohesion and troop readiness. Several members of the squadron testified that they would welcome Witt back to the unit. So what relevance does the DOD's study have...DOD and service members should simply follow their orders. Further, it is grossly hypocritical to deny gays equal rights by allowing them to serve openly in the military or to get married and yet insist that they pay taxes to a government that not only fails to represent them, protect all minorities, and in the case of GLBT community actively discriminates against them...After all wasn't one of the rallying cries of the American revolution is no taxation without representation!!!!

ozilot, armed forces personnel follow orders when they comply with the UCMJ. The policy states DADT. If the squadron flight nurse did not tell on herself by words or actions, then she was in compliance. If no other person inquired of her sexual orientation, then they too were in compliance. So, how was she relieved of duty? Remember, more gays and lesbians are discharged due to their own voluntary and verbal admission to being gay or lesbian than through third party action. Gays and lesbians, who want to serve, continue to serve under DADT.

Now is the time for all GLBT service members to come out en masse, just think of the bureaucratic nightmare this would cause, not to mention a significant drop in current force levels and loss of critical skills. Why should the gay community wait? The IRS isn't asking gays to wait and pay taxes to government that actively discriminates against them? Christians aren't waiting to tell gays that god hates them and they'll burn...as if they knew anything at all? The only people that fear and hate gays are those that for whatever in demons hate themselves and transfer their self-loathing to others they think are weaker than themselves! To the gay service members I say COME OUT COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE AND BE COUNTED!

To the gay service members I say COME OUT COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE AND BE COUNTED!

Sure the Pentagon has faults, but they do a heck of a job defending this country.
by slappy-jones October 15, 2010 10:27 PM EDT
I'd like to see more of that and less of playing "world police", mattrick. 46.5% of your tax bill last year went straight to the military. I'd like to see that cut in half, and make them focus on actual defense.
by scorpiodude October 16, 2010 1:21 AM EDT
Well, aren't you the true patriotic american. If this country had to depend on people like you to defend it, we would be SOL.

TrickynWV Dear Pentagon: I hated you when you were killing Americans in Vietnam and slaughtering innocent Vietnamese men women and children ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, thats what armies do....whithout them killing American women and children, this country would never have been founded! Why, in WWII America wouldn't have won the war if our army had not slaughtered their own until the **** and Germans surrendered.......See how stupid your post is?

I cannot understand this administration. They promised so much to get elected and have not really lived up to it. I was actually excited "for change" and it is just the same old b.s. like every other administration. Here is a perfect example of something they promised to change, it gets changed and now they want the gays to still hide their choice in lifestyle.

Really I think everyone in the military just ought to come out tomorrow and see if all of these tea baggers and our "liberal" President are willing to expel all of them and leave our country defenseless.

coucou, *************************************************************************** by jsilver2th October 15, 2010 6:32 PM EDT Well homsexuality is not a mental illness. However, homophobia is a mental illness which can be cured. I would suggest that you obtain mental care. However, you shouldn't expect it for free since that would be Socialism. ============================================================================bla bla..si tu ?tais intelligent tu te poserais la question suivante : une arm?e qui "donne le droit" aux "soldats gays" de d?clarer ouvertement leur "homosexualit?"...de quoi aurait-elle l'air cette arm?e devant son ou ses adversaires ??? au revoir

yea we dont need any more folks in the military, its fine to just send all the straight guys back to war, 3 and 4 times until they die or get PTSD, and we can spend money on their lifetime disability checks..yea thats the ticket.
